Traction Injury During Delivery with Cervical Nerve Damage - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This stock medical exhibit illustrates the mechanism of traction injury during delivery. The first image features a cut away view of abdomen in delivery. The fetus' right shoulder is lodged behind the pubic symphysis. In the second image, in an assisted delivery the head is forward outward and downward while right shoulder is forced back away from neck stretching the cervical nerve roots.
