This exhibit illustrates two surgeries completed on the right ankle, one closed and one open.rnrnThe top half of the exhibit illustrates the closed procedure. This includes two pre-operative films showcasing the subcentral cysts and marrow edema in the talus, as well as the osteochondral fragment overlapping the talus and calcaneus junction. The steps shown of this procedure include the insertion of arthroscopic instruments, the debridement of scar tissue and synovitis from the ankle joint, and the removal of loose bodies and tibial exostosis, and microfracturing of the lateral talar dome.rnrnThe bottom half of the exhibit illustrates the open procedure. This also includes three images, the first illustrating the open incision over the right ankle exposing the damaged calcaneofibular ligament and anterior talofibular ligament. The next two steps show the stitching of the damaged ligaments and the flap of tissue stitched over them to secure the ligaments in place.
